CanWISP has been busy over the past months.  We have represented the Canadian WISP Industry by participating in various consultations with ISED and the CRTC.  Be sure to check out our Government Representation page (https://www.canwisp.ca/Canwisp-Representation-Work).  These consultations take place over many months and require a significant investment of time and funding.

We have participated in efforts to:

• Make upcoming spectrum auctions more accessible to very small service providers (August 2019 - ISED: Consultation on a Policy and Licensing Framework for Spectrum in the 3500 MHz Band (SLPB-002-19))

• Open up the Mobile Phone market to wholesale providers (May 2019 - CRTC: Review of Mobile Wireless Services (TNC 2019-57))

• Encourage ISED to allocate spectrum in smaller geographic areas more suitable to small providers (February and April 2019 - ISED: Consultation on a New Set of Service Areas for Spectrum Licensing (DGSO-002-18))

Highlight the need for more appropriately priced spectrum fees for Point-To-Point links. (January and February 2019 - ISED: Consultation on License Fees for Point-to-Point Radio Systems (DGSO-001-18) )
